Tax Help New Mexico - UNM Valencia Campus

United Way of Central New Mexico offers free tax preparation through the Tax Help New Mexico program to families who make $60,000 per year or less and individuals age 65 and older regardless of income. Call ahead for appointment. Bring ID, Tax docs, Social Security card.

Tax Help New Mexico will be conducting off-season appointments and will have ongoing appointment availability until October. To schedule an appointment and for location availability, please call the Tax Help Resource Hotline at 505-750-3885.

If you would like to self-file your tax return online, you can visit MyFreeTaxes, a free software sponsored by United Way Worldwide and H&R Block. Through it, you can file a FREE simple federal and state return. Be cautious of added fees by opting into services such as a “CPA sign off” which include a cost.

The IRS also has a variety of free-file software available on the IRS website.
